By Press release from Bare Necessities, Inc. • 06/17/2021 04:00 a.m. EST

Bare Necessities, Inc., is a nonprofit organization that provides diapers and wipes to families in need along the shoreline between Guilford and Old Saybrook. The number of families having a diaper need has grown tremendously during the past year. Donations from the local communities allow Bare Necessities to continue to meet the growing need.

With the uncertainty early on of what COVID restrictions would look like, Bare Necessities will once again hold its major fundraiser: Ducky Dip for Diapers. This will be an old-fashioned duck pond game. Adopted ducks will be put into a swimming pool and Bare Necessities will pull 14 ducks and they will win prizes in the order they are pulled. Prizes include two tickets to a Red Sox game with a signed ball, family membership to Mystic Aquarium, a Block Island excursion, a DeWalt four-tool combo kit, four yards of mulch, and a $100 gift certificate to Bill’s Seafood in Westbrook.

This will be a totally virtual event being broadcast on Facebook live on Saturday, June 26 at 11 a.m. on the Bare Necessities, Inc., Facebook page.To adopt a $5 duck for the Ducky Dip or for more information about this event, visit www.barenecessitiesct.org. The adoption of one duck provides three days of diapers and wipes for a baby.

Businesses that would like to sponsor this event may email tbascom@barenecessitiesct.org.

Bare Necessities, Inc., thanks the shoreline community for its continued support in helping to keep our shoreline babies clean, dry, and healthy.
