Liverpool, N.Y. — The Central New York Diaper Bank is giving away free diapers to those who need them Saturday in Liverpool.
The drive-up event will be held Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 4646 Crossroads Park Drive in Liverpool. Registration is required beforehand at CNYDiaperBank.org. Residents of Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego and Herkimer counties are eligible.
Masks are required at the drive-up event.
Nearly 700 people have registered so far, and some sizes are no longer available. They are sizes 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Sizes N and 1 are still available.
This is the second diaper giveaway made possible by a $10,000 grant from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield. Last month, the bank gave away 25,500 diapers for 520 babies and toddlers. They also gave out 360 children’s books and 200 pairs of pajamas.
The coronavirus pandemic has resulted in increased need across Central New York and the country. The diaper bank has given out more than 1.8 million diapers this year, double what is typical.
