CARTERVILLE, IL — If you ask any parent what’s the one thing their kid needs more than anything on a regular basis, the answer is almost always more diapers and more wipes. For many, the cost of these necessary items can make or break a family’s budget. Carterville-based nonprofit, Got You Covered Diaper Ministry, is on a mission to provide diapers, wipes & other hygiene products to children in need.
Organization Co-Founder Evelyn Fuqua says there are several government as well as private programs like SNAP or WIC that help low-income families access foods and other related items. However, none of them cover diapers and wipes. She says one particular moment in her time of service provided the light bulb to create a program that would focus on the needs of babies specifically.
Got You Covered Diaper Ministry provided 17,000 diapers to families in southern Illinois in 2019. You can contact the organization by calling 618-922-6355 or find them on Facebook.
Fuqua added that Got You Covered is always looking and willing to help others who may want to start a similar business in their community.
