GLASTONBURY — After hosting a successful collection event in August, a Manchester High School student is expanding the work of his Gentle Love Diaper Pantry with a diaper drive at a local car dealership.
The Gentle Love Diaper Pantry, the brainchild of high school junior Kyle Zingler and a few of his peers, is collaborating with Monaco Ford in Glastonbury from today through Feb. 20.
The pantry was created by Zingler as a way to help families struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since it launched in June, the Gentle Love Diaper Pantry has distributed more than 45,000 diapers and 37,000 sanitation wipes to families in need through organizations like the Manchester Area Conference of Churches, the ECHN Family Development Center, and the Manchester Public Schools Welcome Center.
Those who wish to contribute but are unable to do a drop-off at the dealership, can purchase diapers off the pantry’s Amazon Wishlist, which can found online on the Gentle Love Diaper Pantry Facebook Page. Loose diapers may be donated but must be contained and properly sized, and all baby wipes must be in new condition and unopened.
Those interested can drop off diapers at the dealership, 767 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, during regular business hours through Saturday, Feb. 20.
