Syracuse, N.Y. - The CNY Diaper Bank has provided roughly 2 million diapers to struggling families during the pandemic, nearly doubling its donations from 2019.

The nonprofit organization works with 34 partner agencies and groups to distribute diapers to families who need them. Diapers are not covered by WIC or Snap benefits. The diaper bank provides diapers to 3,500 babies and toddlers each month.

The organization is holding a virtual trivia night, “You don’t know crap!” from 8 to 10 p.m. It will be emceed by two local comedians Phil Farda and Josh Fish. The event, sponsored by Midtown Shoe & Repair, is free but the suggested donation is $25.

Several local restaurants, including The Brasserie Bar & Bistro, San Miguel Mexican Bar & Grill, Strigo Vineyards, Toss & Fire and WT Brews, are offering take-out specials Friday night, including cocktail and drink kits. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Diaper Bank. The SYR Clothing Co. is also donating a portion of sales to the diaper bank this month and is selling a special onesie and diaper bank collection that will benefit the nonprofit for the rest of the year.
