An 11-year-old boy Cartier Carey from Hampton, Virginia, is raising money to buy diapers and wipes for single moms. Cartier set up a lemonade stand in their front yard to sell lemonade, chips, and other snacks to raise money to help single moms. At only 11, Cartier already understands the struggle that single mothers go through, especially during this hard economic time of COVID-19. Although he comes from a complete family that has a dad and mom, Cartier has a heart for helping single moms. His mom Britany Stewart says that Cartier's passion for helping has been growing every day, and she is proud of him.
Cartier was able to raise $5000 in July from his lemonade stand, and he bought 6,500 diapers with it. He distributed the diapers to the needy single moms within his community. By September, he had already distributed 22,000 diapers, getting close to his target of 25,000 diapers. Next to his lemonade stand, Cartier erected a sign that reads 'Raising money for single mothers.'
His lemonade stand raised $3000 within the first three days. Cartier says that his initiative has touched many people, and some of them leave $20 for something that costs $1 just to support his initiative. So far, he has raised over $7500 for diapers.
Yesterday was a great day for us!! We helped 326 single parents by providing them with diapers and wipes 😊 #Kids4Change #makingadifference #kidentrepreneur #diaperdrive

According to the Good news Network, this isn't the first time that the young teen is trying to help the less fortunate in his community. He had earlier started an initiative called Carti packs, where he used to collect some basic items such as tissue, soap, deodorant, and hand-warmers for use during cold weather. Cartier distributed these basic items to homeless people. The philanthropic boy started a non-profit organization called Kids 4 change 757 last year to help the less fortunate and most vulnerable people in his community. He says he enjoys it when he makes a difference in someone's life.
He recalls an incident where a woman appreciated his work with a hug as she cried. Cartier says that the woman almost made him cry, and he realized that he wasn't too young to make a difference and make other people's lives better. He gets the support of his parents and his young siblings in making the snacks and even selling them.
His parents have rented a truck to help them distribute the diapers and wipes in churches and other places where the needy moms can pick them. Some women come directly to their home to pick the diapers. The beneficiaries of this initiative are grateful to the young boy, and they admit that it has helped them a lot. Cartier's parents are also proud to have a child with such a big heart.
