KALAMAZOO (WOOD) – St. Luke’s Diaper Bank (SLDB) works to provide an adequate and reliable supply of diapers to babies, toddlers and their families in the city of Kalamazoo living under the pressures of economic inequity. Founded in 2015, SLDB distributes approximately 20,000 diapers each month to 400 families through four partner agencies: Douglass Community Association, New Village Park Neighborhood Network Center, Ministry with Community, and Michigan Works!. Since COVID-19, the need in our community has been even greater, with children and families who lack access to clean diapers and other basic necessities being disproportionately impacted.
SLDB is currently distributing diapers weekly, rotating between two distribution locations: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church (247 W Lovell St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) and the Douglass Community Association (1000 W Paterson St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007). Anyone needing diapers can attend this weekly drive-up distribution. Our distribution schedule can be found on our social media (@stlukesdiaperbank) or on our website: https://www.stlukesdiaperbank.org/covid-19/. Our next distribution will be held on Thursday, August 6th at the Douglass Community Association from 9am-noon. (NOTE: distributions are usually held on Tuesdays at this time, with the location alternating each week.)
